The International Standard for Innovation Management

The pace of business is quickening. Modern businesses need to continually innovate to keep up with their competition. The ISO 56000 standard outlines the vocabulary, principles and fundamental concepts of Innovation Management.

Developed by Technical Committee 279, who is charged with the “standardization of terminology tools and methods and interactions between relevant parties to enable innovation.”

Innovation is about creating something new that adds value; this can be a product, a service, a business model or an organization. And the value that is added is not necessarily financial, it can also be social or environmental, for example.
