In part of our continuing effort to help the world and all of its inhabitants evolve into their best selves, Steve Palmer of Ever Evolving will be taking part in the 5K Alumni Challenge on November 24th, 2019 to support The V Foundation and help raise money for Cancer Research.
When asked about why he’s running, Mr. Palmer explained:
“Cancer is an awful disease that has unfortunately seemingly touched all of our lives. From my own personal experience, one of my grandfathers died from lung cancer. As it happened before my birth, I was denied the opportunity to meet and learn from him. Hearing stories about him and his family devotion and work ethic, I think I would have been a better person if I had an opportunity to know him. Cancer robbed me of that.
And then my mother was diagnosed with Stage 1 Cervical Cancer in 2013. Luckily, this time, they caught it early. But still, any time you hear the word ‘Cancer,’ it’s a terrifying experience.
And that’s just with my immediate family. That doesn’t get into the loss that Cancer has brought upon my closest of friends who are family in every sense of the word. So, if there is anything I can do to help a wonderful organization like the V Foundation raise money to put an end to this terrible affliction, then I’m glad to help however I can.”
When asked about how others can help, Mr. Palmer identified two ways:
“The first is to sign up and run with me. It’s going to be a lot of fun, and the more people we can sign up the better. The second is to donate. I have set a personal goal to raise an additional $250 for The V Foundation, and any little bit you can give would be helpful.”
